This newly founded association wants to be on the map like other parks in this State. They made the handball world take some notice in September when they got "Rookie", Peewee, Herman, John, Shaheem, Ralphie, Paul P., Milton & Tyrone to participate in their event. Little did they know of all the upsets and drama that would fall upon the courts of Massepequa.

Upsets are a big part of this handball game. It is what keeps many players going and encourages competition on the chance that a player can defeat a better player at any time. When the unexpected happens, Handball becomes an even more loveable sport. While many know Herman from his power displays in doubles, he has done little to show his singles game. He jokes himself out of being a runner and until recently had no desire for one on one competition. Un- luckily for Rookie, Herman wanted to win this year and Rookie happened to be in the way of that dream. Sometimes dreams come true as Rookie fell to a very determined Herman and the tournaments' almost $300 first place prize. Sadly also was the defeat of John losing to Herman in the first round as 2 familiar players came to the tournament together only to face each other immediately. John protested early, maybe because he had a hunch on what was to come!
